New Delhi :-Dr. K. Radhakrishanan, chairman Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) today launched a book “Reaching for the Stars: India’s Journey to Mars and Beyond. The book is based on India’s recent successful Mars Mission and peeps into the new vista’s of future. It is Co-authored by one of India’s most respected science journalists, Shri Pallava Bagla and sets in as a landmark in the chronicling of India’s space programme, and the Mars mission in particular.On this occasion a message from Dr.Jitendra Singh read in which the Minister praised Shri Pallava Bagla for his incisive, in-depth, credible and reflective reports of a deep understanding of the facts and complexities of science.
This book is an insider’s account in every sense of the word, Dr Singh was particularly delighted with the use of excellent photographs that accompany the narrative, the minister added. Dr. Jitendra Singh also praised Professor Subhadra Menon, the co-author who is also from the health sector and is known as an accomplished and award-winning writer who travelled to many ISRO institutions to bring together a detailed account of preparations for the Mars mission and how it was conceptualised and implemented.
