New Delhi:-Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that “Swacchta” will be the main theme for three days long Rashtriya Bal Film Mela which is to be held from November 14-16, 2014, at Siri fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The festival is planned for the first time in Delhi on the sidelines of Childrens’ day celebrations.
Addressing the Press Conference Shri Javadekar said, the theme for Rashtriya Bal Film Mela would help in taking ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ to children and would create awareness among them through the medium of films. Speaking further the Minister said, programmes like performance of Shiamak Davar Dance Group at the inaugural function, ‘Cinematography Workshop’ by the Film and Television Institute of India FTII, Pune, workshop on ‘Best out of waste’, Magic performance: Act ‘Garbage Man’ and impromptu work of art by the ace artist Shri Vilas Nayak on the theme ‘Swacchta’ would be other attractions for children at the festival.
Tennis Player Ms Sania Mirza would be the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. ‘Pappu Ki Pugdundi’ would be the opening film of the three days long festival. The festival is being organized by the Children`s Film Society of India under the aegis of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
