New Delhi: Delhi Book Fair , Federation of Indian Publishers organized an “On the Spot” Painting Competition. The age groups qualifying for participation were 5-10 years and 11-16 years. first 400 participants. There were 23 consolation prizes in total and the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were given a memento cup and certificate each. An additional title of “Outstanding Painting” was also presented for a participant.
The judges of the competition were Mr. Shekhar Gurera, a famous cartoonist from Punjab Kesari,& Mr. Joy Roy Chaudhary
“It is wonderful to see all the major publishers under one roof. It creates and builds the interest in children from an early age if one is taught the joys of reading.
Vision Books hosted an interactive workshop celebrating a book launch. The author, Mr. Manoj Arora conversed with the people and also personally signed their copies of his book “Happiness Unlimited”.
The evening ended on a melodic note. The Authors Guild of India(AGI) organized their annual “Kavi Sammelan” which was attended by their members. Santosh Anand recited many of his original pieces and was loved by everyone in the audience. The event was attended by many elderly people and their enthusiasm was remarkable. Humourist Dr. Sarojini Pritam and Secretary General of AGI Dr. Shiv Shankar Awasthi was also present.
