Kalraj Mishra, Union Minster for MSME inaugurates KVIC Pavilion

New Delhi :-Kalraj Mishra, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises inaugurated to KVIC Pavilion here today at Pragati Maidan. KVIC has been participating in the IITF organized by India Trade Promotion Organisation, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi for the last two decades. The theme of this year’s fair is “Women Entrepreneurs”. An exclusive Khadi Pavilion carrying this theme has been setup in Hall No: 15 (inside and outside) comprising approximately 2800 sq meter area. The thematic presentation which has been made in the main hall of the pavilion highlights the contribution of women entrepreneurs/ artisans in the growth of Khadi & Village Industries and their empowerment. The KVIC schemes have made them economically sound and socially more acceptable.

KVIC exclusive pavilion in Hall No. 15 comprises approximately 189 stalls of institutions, entrepreneurs, craft persons etc. The units from all over India right from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Arunachal Pradesh are participating in the Khadi Pavilion. Total 199 Institutions/ SFURTI clusters/ VI/REGP/PMEGP units, state KVI Boards, Departmental Bhavans to display and demonstrate their exquisite products. Out of 199 participates 49 are Khadi Institutions, 1 Departmental Bhavan, 5 State Boards, 8 SFURTI clusters & 136 REGP/PMEGP units. Out of 136 PMEGP units, 76 units are run by women entrepreneurs.

An exclusive technological demonstration of Silk Khadi activities by Jharkhand Khadi Board has been arranged. In addition to this, Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI) is also participating in Khadi Pavilion to demonstrate solor based technology for its application in rural area. A wide range of products includes Cane & Bamboo from North East, Tribal Jewelry, Handy Crafts from Rajasthan, Eco-friendly Handmade Papers and Stationery, Peppier Mashie, Herbal Shampoo, Soap, Hair Conditioner, Face Pack etc are available in the exhibition. In addition almost all varieties of Silk, Cotton, Woolen Fabric, Silk Sarees, Readymade Garments, Designer Khadi Dresses designed by Women Designers are also on display and sale.

The Khadi & Village Industries Commission is also going to organize an export workshop on 25th November 2014 in ITPO to establish its long range of products in the international market. Officials of the KVIC and Producers of Khadi and Village Industries will be there in the workshop to interact with the merchant exporters, international buyers etc.To further popularize the products of Khadi Fabrics, Readymade Garments & Village Industries a Khadi Paridhan Utsav (Fashion Show) is being organized on 25th November 2014 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. On the Ramp the prominent male/ female, Models of the industries showcase the different varieties of the products such as Khadi Silk Sarees, Casual Wears, Bridal Sarees, Khadi for young generation, Khadi Kids Wear, Dress from North East etc.On the occasion the Minister also released a book titled celebrating the spirit of “Women Entrepreneurs
