New Delhi :-Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Ravinder Kumar Jain, IAS(HP:81), Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority under Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary vice Shri Satyanarayan Mohanty, IAS(AP:80), on his relinquishing the charge of the post.
“Ravinder Kumar Jain obtained Master’s Degree in Commerce securing first position in the University of Delhi. Thereafter, he completed “Master of Philosophy” with specialization in Accounting and Finance from University of Delhi. He did MBA from International Centre for Public Enterprises, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Professionally, he is an Associate Member of the Institute of the Cost Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Ravinder Jain joined Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1981. He has held various senior positions in Government of Himachal Pradesh including Commissioner Industries, Chairman of H.P. State Electricity Board. He also served Central Government in various capacities as Director, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Director (Vigilance), Department of Personnel & Training, Joint Secretary (Ports), Ministry of Shipping and Managing Director, Indian Ports Association, a society formed by the Major Ports of India. He has varied and rich experience of infrastructure sector.
He has served as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Presently, he is working as Additional Secretary & Director General, CGHS in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.”
